well Fred, you got you way!

Did you even check his paw?

Mr. Dear is being a jerk! He didn’t check Fred’s paws and what difference does it make? Fred needs/wants carried. He could very well have something in his paw. He could just be tired or want your love and attention. Point being he needs you one way or the other. Don’t be a jerk.

When we first got Barney, he rode on my arm with his feet and ears hanging down. I couldn’t lift him when he was a year old. We took pictures of him when we first got him, then took the same poses at one year. He was humongous. Even this smaller Fred is quite an armful.

Isn’t that kind of lazy, Fred?

A thorn in the paw is no fun ! Check the paw ! My dog has gotten thorns in her paws on several hunting trips which I had to remove.

Walk today involved high wind and light snow. My dog; Sie kam, sie kackte, sie ging nach Hause. She a dachshund.

Once again, Fred reminds me of the lyrics from Scooby Doo, Where Are You?-

Pretending you’ve got a sliver!

Today’s strip is another one which I remember from a book collection that I had during my 1970s childhood.

Look at the suffering, YOU do something about it, I’ll be busy patting myself on the back for noticing and making YOU do it.

My GSP likes to be held, but she’s 45 pounds so I don’t hold on to her for long before putting her down, she’s like a child.

Mr Dear needs therapy. His growing anger over the past year makes him a danger to himself and Fred.

Mr. Dear should realize that dogs do not malinger!

I don’t like this version of the Dears.

Another example of how mean and grumpy Mr. Dear was.

A basset is a pretty heavy load.

So what’s with the red paw? Or is that his tongue? ;-)

Fred usta beed this mans best fiend…

Fred …… maybe better take you to the Vet’s ….. wouldn’t want you to get an infection …… :)

Mr. Dear, at least in the early days, was often a grumpy curmudgeon.

Did they actually check for the suspected thorn, find it and remove it?

Fred is their fur baby.
