Hey! That name is very misleading, so of course we need to know how it works.

All over the world high school girls

take to the ropes and turn them slow.

Starts a beat and a loop,

they skip and jump through the hoop.

They might break, and they might fall,

but the gals from New York City don’t…

They just start again,

start again.

Cow? I dunno.

Important part is that we are playing!!!!!

Again: it is Heart of the CITY, not Heart of the Suburbs.

What’s a Double Dutch? Never heard of that one before.

It’s a jump rope game using two long jump ropes turned in opposite directions. Lots of us girls played it at recess, when I was a child sixty plus years ago. (I don’t remember ever seeing a boy play it.) I didn’t know it was still around. Thanks for the memory!
