It’s amazing to watch two Abert tufted ear squirrels chasing round and round a Ponderosa Pine 60 ft up.

Do you know how to catch a squirrel? Climb a tree and act like a nut!

Squirrel is pretty tasty though, either in a stew or braised.

“May contain nuts” would be written on his jockstrap if he had one.

Mark Rober has a number of squirrel-oriented obstacle course videos on YouTube that are quite entertaining. I believe this is the first one: https://www.youtube.Com/watch?v=hFZFjoX2cGg Sorry Ralph!

I have two bird feeders. When I looked out this morning to see what birds I’d attracted, there was a fat squirrel sitting on the tray of each feeder munching the sunflower seeds. I stood on the porch and clapped my hands and they jumped off the feeders and ran over to the neighbor’s feeders. Then a third squirrel, who had been higher up in the tree, slid down the shepherd’s hook and landed on one of the abandoned feeders.

We love the squirrels here. Having said that, we’ve also never had them access our attic…if that ever happens, all bets are off!

I used to like squirrels until I became a dog mom. Nobody who picks on dogs and steals from birds could be a decent person. They’re small. And cute. But evillll!
