Janis, Luv, when the wind blows like sixty, you should be wearing something warmer than a windbreaker⊠And, for Gawdâs sake, put on some decent shoes before you freeze your toes off!
Have to walk every day. It keeps me healthy at 79. Last week we had several days at -10 F. For the next 10 days weâll have only 2 as low as 30, 7 in the 40âs, and 1 at 50! I love global warming!
I walk every day. When itâs cold I walk inside. Yes, Iâm the lady pushing and kicking people out of my way. The mall here is deserted ..no people⊠very few stores left so I donât feel safe there. I do prefer walking out in nature. It has a calming effect.
Didnât feel like walking outside, treadmill and stationary bike were not my thing either. Got an elliptical device. It is pedaled while sitting in a chair. It keeps track of my steps. Works for me, better than no exercise at all. Lost 30 lbs so far. Also watching diet. Eat what I want, but in moderation.
âIâm freezing my fanny off!â If only it were so easy.
I have to pace back and forth in my apartment every night so I can fall asleep except for those rare winter days when I can get a long walk in. I had an exercise bike for 13 months before I wore it out.
2 reasons I have dogs. One, to accompany me on my walks. Two, to make sure we take walks It is up to me to dress appropriately, and some times, I regret what I chose to put on for the walk, too.
Janis, you need to break your addiction to the scale. If walking isnât bringing you joy, find another form of movement that does. Learn to be happy in your body!

If you skip a day you feel guilty about it.

Janice, if you ever come to England, please donât say that. Over here, the âfannyâ is not a euphemism for the rear, it means the female front.

Quite a coincidence. I glanced at this article last night: âYour brain is hard-wired to avoid exercise. Hereâs why.â

Janis, dress appropriately. Boots, socks, hat, you know. And yes, enjoy, look around, feel glad to be up, out, and about.

If you weighed yourself before and after this walk, you can find out how much your fanny weighed.

Time to get a treadmill, Janice.
elgrecousa Premium Member about 1 year ago
Why on earth would you choose to walk outside in this kind of weather? A treadmill would do just fine.
