“And Then There Were None” — 1945 … the best filmed version of Agatha Christie’s novel, with such a wonderful all-star cast: Barry Fitzgerald, Walter Huston, Louis Hayward, to name just a few. So much better than any of the other adaptations … usually under the title “Ten Little Indians.”
NATIONAL NOTHING DAY. The observance was created as a day to provide Americans with one National Day when they can just sit without celebrating, observing or honoring anything.
NATIONAL WITHOUT A SCALPEL DAY. Each year on National Without a Scalpel Day January 16th recognizes the opportunities to treat disease without a scalpel. On this day in 1964, pioneering physician Charles Dotter performed the first angioplasty. The ground-breaking procedure to open a blocked blood vessel took place in Portland, Oregon. Not only did the angioplasty allow the patient to avoid leg amputation surgery, but she left the hospital days later with only a Band-Aid.
I am so glad that I save some of my paid time off hours to use in January! We had a high temperature yesterday of 1 degree (above zero!) with a chill factor around 30 below and I did not have to step foot outside once all day! I’m off for the next 3 bitter cold days too.
Man, sounds like Lily’s really on the warpath! I’ve never seen “And Then There Were None”, but I am familar with the plot somewhat. Not very happy about Izzy Moreno’s use of the ableist slur “retard.” As a special needs person, I find that word very offensive. >:( On another note, saw three chickadees and a varied thrush while out walking today.

All 9 cats are in various nooks and crannies around the neighborhood by now. SWMBO is on the warpath. Note: it was probably a mouse.

Yikes! Even Mother Nature would be frightened of her.

I’m sure Annie has a top notch washer and dryer, and Lily will politely ask that her bedding be cleaned. Just like Oliver would.

It’s time for Nancy Grace and her team to feature Lili’s story on Bloodline Detectives. Woe to the purrpetrators of this dastardly deed.
