One time I was asked to chair a committee. Because it wasn’t easy, so I had to recline. I wasn’t going to be anyone’s stool pigeon for some kitchen cabinet.
Reminds me of ducking a committee assigned to find the source of the nasty gossip that floated around our small company. That committee was supposed to report to the Executive Vice President (owner’s daughter) – who everybody knew was the source of the gossip.
