The curse of the automatic ice-makers; the refrigerator part most likely to malfunction and/or give you conniptions. Buy a couple of silicone ice trays, make your own ice cubes, and save yourself many headaches.

First world problems. I’ve never had a fridge that gave you ice like that. But it’s not a big deal to just get them from an ice cube tray.

Back in the old days we had to chisel our own ice cubes.

I have no room in my freezer for ice cube trays, unfortunately.

I’ve never had an ice maker. I don’t like ice in any drinks.

when I bought my refrigerator I rejected the automatic ice maker option and have never been sorry, not sure if they are still an option any longer.

For cold water or soft drinks I use one of those “freezer mugs” with water sealed between the plastic sides. Pop it in the freezer upside-down to ice up and when you use it,it keeps your drink cold and undiluted for more than an hour.

Never hooked the ice maker up, no interest in another problem. No interest in ice either. It waters the booze down, what good is that!!??

I am my own automatic ice maker—no ice in the tray, I make my own.

Does the artist have a stencil or stamp of Baldo’s open palm? Seems like it’s the only gesture this kid does.

Our last fridge came with an ice maker not an option, just came with it – I was upset at the loss of space in the freezer. When that one died a couple of years ago we insisted that we did not want one. Don’t put ice in drinks as a general rule (not even his ice tea).

Only need ice if one of gets hit into something or if I have been making Brunswick stew which take hours and I make it the night before we will eat it and need to cool it down quickly so I can put in the fridge overnight after I cook it. I fill a larger pot with water and add all the ice in the 2 trays we have, then add the smaller large pot I cooked in. Then refill the trays and put back in the freezer for the next time.

Yeah. I found myself hollering at the microwave “hurry up already.” Stupid I know.
