I prefer pretzel logic.
circular reasoning works because circular reasoning works because
It becomes the old days when you are telling it to someone not old enough to have lived through it.
It becomes the good old days when you’ve forgotten about the bad times.
I heard a guy who was about 20 tell his girl friend about “back in the day”.
Listen to your Grandparent’s stories. I’m 70 and have so many questions I would love to ask my Grandparents.
I suppose it’s better than ratting you out.
I guess I’m not up on Kid’s Slang these days, Rattling On seems an old-fashioned term
Rattling on is someone’s excuse for not paying attention to what might a very interesting story.
Old men talk about the past because they have no future. Young men talk about the future because they have no past.
Share a brew (coffee or hops) and discuss today.
I like this cartoon. :-)
A tautology is perfectly true, even if it doesn’t say all that much. Plus, it’s “the good ol’ days.”
That’s putting a spin on it.
Ah yes, I remember the time…(two hours later) then I arrived home.
Unfortunately, too many old people use “the good ol’ days” as a way to attack young people for the unforgivable crime of being young.
Though you’ll be stuck watching Frazz shovel snow.
“Stay right here, ’cause these are the Good Old Days.”—C. Simon
“This is the time to remember, ’cause it will not last forever.”—W. Joel
The past becomes “The Old Days” when it occurs before the listener was born
Maybe this is why Genesis and some other origin stories posit a nearly heavenly beginning: Every generation gets nostalgic in old age, so the first must have had it best.
Nostalgia is not all it’s cracked up to be.
Things are more like they used to be than they are now.
Hmm, no, there’s no logic there at all.
