Proxies are always harder to control than your own troops. But they can be an advantage if you want people who are fanatics. And of course you don’t have to ship your OWN populations’ sons and daughters home in boxes.

Hubris.

Actually, it comes under the heading of “he wishes”.

I know I will be pilloried for this, but it certainly seems that hatred and revenge are two of the main tenets of Islam. They never forget a transgression or insult, real or percieved. It must be avenged. Christianity holds that vengence is God’s provence. Islamics always claim to be the instrument of Allah, and most willingly mete out retribution at the word of any mullah, imam, or brigand.

Yeah, but I, a great-grandmother, can beat your great-grandmother!

They have to know that if they shoot missiles at people and send drones to cause damage and kill that there will be retaliation and repercussions. What is it they want? They don’t want peace. That is obvious.

Hold my beer, watch this.

But.. those proxies are killing a lot of civilians who would much rather be scratching out a living instead of running from bombs

Republicans are big bad warriors when they are not in office.
