Is there any hour that isn’t cocktail hour for President King?

Could, just possibly, the Dean have his eye on the president’s job?

Prez King, here’s whatcha do: Meet with the TAs and tell them that the profs won’t be handing out any assignments any more, so their workload will go down substantially. That’ll make the students and faculty happy, too. You’ll emerge as a star!

T.A.s (Teaching Assistants) play a vital role in college education. Some professors are so obscure in their lectures that TAs are necessary to direct students in their studies.

While at the U.C., I failed third quarter of Organic Chemistry twice (along with a good percentage of the class) because the professor would wander off into stories about his professional career rather than teach the subject. He was tenured, he was the only one who taught the subject and you could not get a Chemistry degree without passing the course. A large group of TAs were hired and I was able to pass the course on the third try.

Tomorrow we start tearing down the college

But Professor,where will the students sleep?

Amazing that this series is being reprinted just as TAs are in fact striking at some colleges.

He’s not kidding about Harvard, they really played hardball when the grad students tried to unionize.
