Milo should have become a regular character in the strip. One of the very, very few mistakes which Schulz made with Peanuts was in not giving Franklin a personality – the only thing that can be said about Franklin is that he is the only significant African-American character in the strip, and he shouldn’t be defined exclusively by that. Now, Milo is a character who is clearly born quirky, and I imagine that he would have inspired a lot of funny and characterful gags. Come to think of it, I could see him being best friends with Rerun. He would have made a wonderful addition to the Peanuts gang.
As long as you don’t do it for the reason former MLB player Tim Raines did: https://www.sportscasting(dot)com/mlb-great-tim-raines-had-a-shocking-reason-for-sliding-into-bases-headfirst/
I think Charlie Brown stumbled upon the town of Forrest Gump. One of their most proud sons, Zero, went off to join the Army and is now stationed at Camp Swampy in Beetle Bailey comic strip. ;-p
Not sure, based on his track record, CB is an appropriate teacher/coach. But the student/player has to be worthy. For instance, I’ve taught my boy everything I know and he still doesn’t know anything.

Can it be? A baseball team worse than CB’s? Is this a sign of the End Times?

I never realized that baseball players practiced slides.

Milo, this is how you become bald at a very young age. Maybe best to slide feet first for now.

Charlie! You’re training your young(er) players to slide! Just getting them to run to a base is enough for that age.
