Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door was written by Bob Dylan in 1973 and became an iconic cover tune of Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band shows. Dylan played it while touring with the Dead in 1987.

The Dead last played it for an encore on July 23, 1994 at Soldier Field. (I was there)
