When my aunt and uncle were training their current dog they hung a loop with little bells attached to it around the doorknob and trained him to ring the bells. It was ingenious really. Encouraging a dog to bark more often rather than less sounds annoying and discourteous to the neighbors.

Uhm… if you’re trying to train him to bark when he wants to go outside… shouldn’t the scratches on the door be on the INSIDE?
