You know how the other Marigold feels about Kyle being referred to first.

And now Phoebe hears distant boss music behind them.

What do you mean “THE unicorn”, Marigold? Isn’t Phoebe also friends with Florence and LSH? As well as possibly more than friends with Ferny?

It’s like viewing modern art after being so acclimated to Victorian Era artwork; the newer canvas seems so blank and bland compared to the grandeur of what’s already there on the older one.

And my idea to make a song called “Kyle and Marigold” to the tune of “This is Halloween” was undercut by the way the only thing to say about the pair is how uninteresting it is. Totally opposite of the spooky excitement of the tune.

Hmm “Opposite.” “Boring.” And in this strip the “Shield of Boringness” is a central plot point. Is it possible that Marigold 2’s SoB is just especially powerful?

Kyle was kind of “out there” Phoebe, and Marigold 2 was kind of bossy to him, you are lucky!

In a while, the thought of Kyle won’t even bring a smile.

We understand the disappointment, Phoebe.

Nah, I’ll stay disappointed.

Marigold has yet to grasp that humans also need smaller things in their lives that they can more personally relate to.
