Scarabs are dung beetles, so definitely not an appealing thing to have infesting your eternal resting place.

I thought I knew a lot about scarabs … sacred beetle, symbol of the Egyptian sun god, who was represented as being scarab-faced, and who represented sunrise, creation and resurrection … but this is the first I have ever heard of its connection to dung beetles! Thanks for the info.

Shouldn’t he have said, “Ya’ll were right, cousin, ya gots scarabs.” He is from Memphis, Egypt, after all.
