    Scarabs are dung beetles, so definitely not an appealing thing to have infesting your eternal resting place.

    I thought I knew a lot about scarabs … sacred beetle, symbol of the Egyptian sun god, who was represented as being scarab-faced, and who represented sunrise, creation and resurrection … but this is the first I have ever heard of its connection to dung beetles! Thanks for the info.
