I had nothing to do in my lawn & garden or seasonal or stationery departments yesterday. No freight to work, no returns to put away. I can’t stand having nothing to do, so I decided to do some price changes in the toy department. Oh boy, did THAT keep me busy! There were over 600 price changes (all clearance stuff). Another associate helped some, but she had other things to do too, so I don’t know how many she did. But even as I was doing them, more were dropping in. I think it would be a safe guess that I did about 550 price changes by the time my shift was over. No wonder I was so tired by the time I got home!
Always fun to see good old snarky Chez in the morning. Yesterday I worked harder and longer in the garden than I have in decades – I have a fenced area about 60 × 40m and nearly have the entire plot turned over, weeded and raked. Hope to finish this morning before the being winds come in for the next few days. Looks like we will get almost no rain or snow from this monster storm hitting just north of us. Part of our reason we often stay dry is the 14,000 for peaks to the west that tend to hold back most of the moisture. Mammoth, Yosemite and Tahoe’s peak elevations and passes are at least a few thousand feet lower. Fruit trees are all budding and blooming, the heavy wind and mid 20s overnight couldl take quite a toll on this year’s crop.
Why does Chesney insist on Annie making supper when he think she’s a horrible cook? What a hypocrite. And yes, it would b nice if he showed some appreciation. (Don’t think that will ever happen, though.) On another note, saw a wren, three chickadees, and four varied thrushes while out walking today.

A ‘forgotten’ feeding now and then wont change this buzzard’s ways but think of the inconvenience he will endure. LOL !

Not wise. You kind of did yourself in there, Ches.
If you are still digesting breakfast, there’s no need for you to have dinner. Problem solved. Now go to bed.

Happy extra day, everyone! Do something foolish today — it doesn’t count.

By the time we get back to the story I will have forgotten the plot. There was a plot wasn’t there?

Imagine the feast she could prepare if she spent the entire day doing it!

Today is:
NATIONAL TOAST DAY
NATIONAL TIME REFUND DAY
NATIONAL LEAP DAY
RARE DISEASE DAY USA
And on this date in 1960, Family Circus first appeared as a comic strip.
