Know next to nothing about wine but I’ve been led to believe the box is to be avoided.

Found a wine named Fat Old B a s t a r d. Had to buy one for my BIL. As I said to one my nephews, who else could I give it to.

No wine lasts nearly that long once out of the bottle….or box…

Much like some of the stuff from Costco is a single serving, regardless of what the packaging thinks.

The one time I had wine in a box, late 80’s, all I could taste was the cardboard. I’ve not had the courage, or I’ve had the good sense, not to try again.

When I was in Korea, there was a recall on Riunite. Armed Forces TV and radio repeated the notice frequently for over a week. I ask the club manager, why? It’s not like anyone buying Riunite are putting it up to let it age.

I bought one of those. It said wine will last for two weeks. It didn’t – it was all gone in three days. Can I sue for misrepresentation?

A couple of things are now known and accepted.

The location of the vinery is not an absolute determinant. Years ago in a blind taste test many California wines were preferred over French entries.

Price is not a determinant factor. Taste tests and your own experience will verify this.

My father considered a $3 bottle of wine a good wine, a $4 magnum a great wine.

Who would be patient enough to test that claim?

As in – it won’t last that long? or as in – Arlo would not buy wine in a box?

About fifty years ago, I was fortunate enough to have a glass of Chateau LaTour, one of the great French wines. In today’s market, it is about a $1,000 bottle. How was it? Spectacular! Fifty years later, I can still remember the taste vividly.

Actually now I’m assuming that box wine would be better as I’ve been told if you open a bottle of wine it should be finished within 5 days.

Today is one of Chevrolet’s two favorite days. I think that they should have a special sale.

The box will be empty way before then!

I drank Boone’s Farm Apple when I was in high school , because it was next to the door at the store and easy to steal.

It can be ok. Certainly convenient if you live alone, or with a non-wine-drinker. And very convenient to use for cooking.

30 days after opening the BOTTLE or the BOX?!

I grew up on Manischewitz. Obviously, I’m not a conniseur, either. My grandmother barely tolerated the Manischewitz, as she considered anyone who drank anything stronger to be a drunkard!

Box wine is for people who are in it for the wine and not the “mystique”.

Not true. Trader Joe’s and Bota are quite serviceable.

In my entire life – and all of this since I turned of legal age to drink – I have had less than 10 alcoholic drinks. I hate the taste of anything alcoholic – sweet wine is definitely NOT sweet.

Husband worked with a fellow who was millionaire – they worked at an agency for children with emotional problems and the fellow worked as he wanted to help children. His daughter got married and we were invited to the wedding. Husband insisted I try the wine as it was the best (meaning expensive) wine we would ever drink. Tasted just as bad as my parents’ Kosher wines.

In my mid 20s I came to the realization/decision – if I don’t like alcoholic drinks, there is no need for me to have them and I don’t.
