I love the glasses on the girl to Red’s left. Very in keeping with the strip’s timeframe.

Cat’s Eye glasses I think they were called, very popular back in the 60s and early 70s.

She knows Red very well.

Now I have The Commodores stuck in my head.

It makes sense: a gifted student, which Red likely is, is often bored in class.

I can hardly blame Red!

Ah, “All of the Above,” That was one of my favorite answers on those standardized tests we had to take.

It’s amazing how interesting and pleasant it is to stroll a hall when you are supposed to be in class or a meeting. I have done the same even in my 50s.

HEY! HEY!

This reminds me of way back in high school. The band instructor never had any hall passes on him, so he would scrawl on a scrap of paper that we needed to go to the band room and practice. He never dated them, so some of us used them for every study hall.

“All of the above” works for me.

Of course being with Rover is more fun than being in a classroom

How about the little guy behind Red? Always a nose picker in my elementary classes. Maybe he’s trying to get the glue out ? Hilarious.

At least Red is being “HONEST” …… want’s to do “ALL OF THE ABOVE” ….. and BTW Mrs. Brickhouse …… That Dog’s name is “R O V E R” ….. ;)

Yep. Got my first pair in 3rd grade. Came in black or white. Hated them
