It’s not called Good Friday everyone. In German it’s called Karfreitag which is roughly translated as Lamentation Friday. But essentially it’s something good coming out of something very bad.
Growing up in New England, Good Friday was always observed in my family and the local churches. When I moved to North Carolina in the late 70’s, I was surprised they didn’t celebrate Good Friday, but rather Easter Monday. Over the years, that has changed because of the influx of outsiders, but true southerners from North Carolina still celebrate Easter Monday.
Can someone explain to me how Jesus died on Good Friday and rose on Easter Sunday and somehow spent 3 days in the grave? Friday evening to Sunday morning is more like a day and a half.

?? Well, as long as you understand each other… It’s what friends are made for, ain’t it?

It’s almost like Christians want to celebrate 3 days of pure hell for someone else so they can party and go to heaven.

Well, for Catholics, it’s a good Friday partly because Lent ends at midnight.

You are supposed to eat fried foods on Fryday.

Actually, in English it was originally called “God’s Friday.” Over the centuries the pronunciation became slurred.
