I’m not Catholic so am curious what was being offered in Catholic churches (not on Zoom) when regular mass wasn’t possible during the early part of the pandemic. Would love to hear about this.
Chime in… Yes, wish for that myself, often. But then it comes in the least expected way you could have imagined.
(That seems to be the way, though. From Incarnation, to Passion, to Resurrection, nobody saw it coming. And they had been told repeatedly. Expect the unexpected…)
We have Adoration on Divine Mercy Sunday, all First Fridays, and the second Saturday of each month at our sister parish. Thanks for this Amanda the Great post!
I would like to remember it as a time when people were forced to quarantine, leaving a huge hole in it’s wake. If God had a hand in this I wouldn’t be surprised. Yes, we lost a huge part of our social nature, only to become more introspect and also grateful for our existence on this earth. I don’t know of to many people who’s lives weren’t changed in some way.

I always enjoyed going to early morning weekday mass. So quiet. You could concentrate more.

For me not much changed… after a couple of weeks I could go to work in the empty building – bliss – and we barely get together with people anyway.

I’m not sure why this came to mind, I hope it blesses someone;
Proverbs 17:1 – “Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.”
