Well, now, Brutus, ole boy, this may be your happy location, but it’s not your happy place. Sometimes, when I’m sleeping, I’m troubled, but thinking a pleasant thought gets me to sleep.
Not a big fan of the so-called Happy Place. But his answer is very telling. He really enjoys (or at least accepts) his life as it is. He has a very healthy mental attitude. Stress is a normal emotion for all of us and we even have a need for that emotion to help us sort out our and prioritize our problems and concerns.
My child was the sort when young who could knock several nurses across the room when they tried to give her a vaccine. When she was 5, she was due for her last. I was trying hard to come up with a way for her not to embarrass both of us. I think she scared the other kids usually. I finally sat down with her and taught her how to go to her happy place. She listened, made up her place, and we went in calmly for the shot. They did it in her thigh while she curiously watched. She thanked them, and that was it. We never had a problem again. To this day, as an adult, she can control her pain levels pretty well. Brutus needs to dig deeper, but then it wouldn’t be funny!

Brutus is doing better than I am. I wanted to go to my happy place but it was closed for renovations.

His happy place is: sitting in an overstuffed chair listening to his wife complain all day?

It’s the company, always the company that makes one depressed. Go to bed, close the door and dreams of tropical islands with naked women.

Oh Brutus. I feel this way sometimes. To quote sir Elton John, I guess that’s why they call it the blues.
