my wife was picking up grand daughter from school and heard a splash. she turned and grand daughter was in middle of a puddle, soaked up to her knees. I’m so glad she is a regular kid and enjoys being a kid even if it means having to change shoes.
Today I met a neighbor walking his new pooch, Hudson…a gorgeous big golden retriever looking dog. Hudson has been here all of 10 months and is still shy. His legacy: being a former Korean meat dog! I have another neighbor whose pup, Gabriel, has the same history. Gabe has been in the states for years and is fully at home. I read that another plane load of these rescue pups (a few cats too) is here (NYC / Long Island) now and awaiting clearance to be shown and put up for adoption by an eagerly waiting public.
I remember at least one of these scenes appeared on an earlier scene in which Kate had to take Syrius to Mut Wash since he would not allow himself to be placed in the bath tub. They were coming out and Syrius found a puddle, and then Kate mentioned they both needed baths and it started to rain and Syrius mentioned they now both had a shower. I think that scene is in the last panel, without the speech globes.
We walk in all weather. Sometimes in the same day. My dog will not stay close to home all day long. She needs to get out and smell everything. Then pee on it like a boy dog. I am trying to walk a little less today. Garbage day, garbage not picked up in 24 hours, it’s very windy, stuff is all over the place. She is delighted, I am not. It will probably rain, too.

Poor Kate! I’ve had that drowned-rat look, too.

Two baths in two days, Kate? And, with those socks being waterlogged, how will she move those feet..?

And, sometimes chills out. Really chills. Dropping 20 degrees each of the next three days.

The rule here is don’t plant before mother’s day, there’s still a good chance even for snow.

Not so much here. She laughs at the end of autumn and through winter.

You gotta either laugh or cry! I guess the result in nature is the same though…

Rain or shine, Sirius is always happy.

Spring is like that this year in my area! Lots more rain in Southern California! Which we need, of course! And my garden is glorious.

New meaning to “Oooh, I hear laughter in the rain”

You can see Sirius is Shawm’s son in the last panel. Without perky ears, he is an exact replica

Too bad it doesn’t laugh WITH you.

Always take an umbrella if things look iffy. An umbrella along for the day may keep the showers at bay. My son swears by this.

Peek-a-boo days are bad enough. Tis the season to carry some sort of rain gear.

This is why we’re all good-humored in the Midwestern U.S.
