Actually, the way he drew it, it looks like the waves are afraid of Louie. He might end this game sooner, than later.

It looks like the waves are frozen in place, so maybe Louie did intimidate them.

Those waves would need to cosine on Louie’s barkage!

Reminds me of the legend of King Canute. According to the earliest known version of the legend, King Canute ordered the waves to go back to prove that they would not obey him but only obey the command of God. In some later versions, King Canute really was trying to stop the waves so he learned a lesson in humility and the limited power of a king.

I live in Chester near to the Cheshire town of Knutsford which was named after King Canute or Knut. Canute was the first of England’s three Danish kings.

I think the secret is to howl at the moon, as that’s where the tides come from.

    Good morning, crew!

My lab once stood in a raging rainstorm and barked at the wind and rain with her ears flappping …it was quite funny!!

I know I’ve heard that there’s nothing that succeeds like persistence, but Louie just might not win this battle….

He barks at waves. I wave at barks (barques that pass by me.)

    Wonder which is better?

Fortunately, Louie’s not afraid of the water, unlike my doggie.

Time and tide wait for no dog, not even Louie.

If Louie keeps barking until the tide goes out, he wins, provided he declares a victory soon enough and leaves.

I hope Louie’s bark doesn’t give out before the tide goes out.

    Good night, Crew!

Maybe a giant belly flop would show the waves who’s really boss, Louie.

On second thought, that sounds quite painful. Better stick with barking for now.

    Good Evening, Crew.
