With the cost of new cars, you can replace the engine and transmission on an older car and still come out ahead! Plus, if it’s old enough, they can’t track you with whatever device is in vogue today!

I have an aging fleet. when the annual repair bills exceed car payments, I will consider replacing it.

I have a 32-year-old Dodge Dakota. It is the least ecologically sound car in my fleet. It probably gets about 16 miles to the gallon and it uses a carburetor instead fuel injection. The mechanics love to work on such a relic. I drive it less than 1,500 miles a year. It is used primarily when one of the other cars is in the shop and to haul diapers from a place that donates them to our church.

In other words, your car is deader than a doornail.

They send them to the farm outside of town where they will be happy. This also explains some of the barn finds my son has found and retrieved.

Check the index. You might find a clue, or twenty.
