I think the gag would have been even better if the Fink has said, “Your client offered me a bribe” rather than “Your client tried to bribe me.” I think the Fink would have set himself up for the punchline better with those words.
Must have been a metaphor to Churchill’s comment, “We have established what you are—we are simply haggling about the price”. For the king, the lawyer offered too little.
Here we go again. It’s practically monthly occurrence that each month the latest BC doesn’t get posted for days. Come on, GoComics … these are classic comics, so it’s not as if the artist missed a deadline.
Now that I have come back to this one, expecting a new strip, I have thought of another comment to make. He is no longer solo as he and his lawyer have formed a duet.
