Oh boy. And ya gotta sees all their dramatic melodrama over there.

Boot Camp for news anchor wannabe’s!

Stay in the bars, since they rarely broadcast there.

Attempting to talk to the camera while straining to stand upright in the wind, while all sensible people have long since sought shelter.

You know your town is in trouble when Jim Cantore shows up. Happened to us here during Hurricane Ian.

Two days late. On Tuesday we had tornadoes.

The tornadoes missed us here in S.W. PA but the thunder and lightning and wind storms were horrendous!

And they will be holding on to lamp posts and sign, feigning fighting against a strong wing. While half a dozen crew members toss water at them from just out of frame. Six times an hour. Until someone calls ‘lunch’! (I’ve done the blizzard version.)

I remember when Geraldo Rivera would go out there to be battered by hurricanes winds. Millions of people would be glued to their TV sets shouting “Go, Hurricane! Get ’em!”

And they wonder why people stay to watch the excitement. “It’s not that dangerous out there, Mildred. I can see 6 different news reporters standing in the surf…oops, one isn’t standing now.”

Weather reporters travel where the wind blows them.

speaking of nature, one of the hard-hitting stories a local station recently covered involved asparagus sprouting in a downtown median strip. seriously. i’m not making that up… ☺

Grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast. Reporters and surfers… :)
