I read the top line as Ī£ĪĪœĪ’ĻĪæĪ¤ĪæĪ™ĪæĪ£Ī–Ī‘ĪĪ±

Which google translate says is SembroToIosZana (Thanks, Googleā€¦ /sarc)

But the bottom line translates as CĆ©zanne

Copying and pasting Greek letters, I get ĻƒĪµĪ¼Ī²ĻĪæĻ„ĪæĪ¹ĪæĻƒĪ¶Ī±Ī½Ī± with a translation of ā€œgerm freeā€, using the translator. I wouldnā€™t take bets on whether or not thatā€™s correct.

ā€œThe Hurrian Hymn was discovered in the 1950s on a clay tablet inscribed with Cuneiform text. Itā€™s the oldest surviving melody and is over 3,400 years old.ā€ Found at ClassicFM; canā€™t post the link but Googling that text should do it.

I strongly suspect that music is at least as old as humanity by our current definition.

When the first string was plucked, harmonics were notable.
