Today’s strip reminds me of a UK children’s show from the 1970s called Catweazle. Catweazle was a magician from the time of the Norman Conquest who accidentally transported himself to the 1970s. He thought of all the different household gadgets as magical and called electricity “eleck-trickery”.
Actually, disconnects were designed so gravity would pull them open. It’s in the National Electrical Code. The handle should be on the bottom and the contacts on top.
