Only in Popeye cartoons is spinach in cans, IRL one may have either fresh or frozen [chopped or cut leaf].

Popeye would open cans of spinach simply by squeezing the can and shooting it straight into his mouth. The Count always thought that was pretty cool.

I actually love spinach, though we mainly buy the frozen spinach in bags.

I liked canned spinach, then they stopped selling it. Probably because they make more money selling it fresh and frozen, but waste a lot more. (If you steam it enough, it comes out the same, but it’s more expensive and takes longer.)

So, that’s what it takes for Garfield to move fast: a whirring can opener.

We need different noises for different cans. Like something obnoxious for canned veggies but some majestic chorus for something like canned ravioli or something.

As long as she used ricotta in some of the layers and parmigiana on top.

A can of spinach with Jon Arbuckle! Usually is anything that can’t be cooked or a delivery of Pizza. Unusual!

The wife and I love spinach omelets, with sausage, mushrooms onion’s, tomatoes, and sour cream topping.

I take it Garfield does not like spinach

Well, better than tuna.

Ick! I don’t mind fresh spinach but the canned stuff is disgusting slimy glop. My mom used to make us eat it, she also made me drink milk which I despised bc it always gave me a stomachache.

When I was 5 or 6 i had the bright idea to put the spinach in the milk, thinking I wouldn’t have to have either.. no such luck lol. She made me stay at the table until I’d forced down every last repulsive bit of it!

Now if only you could tell which type of can is being opened by its sound. Like how Homer Simpson can hear pudding

My daughter made some quiche once. She was going to use frozen spinach and canned mushrooms. I suggested that she use fresh instead, and she took me up on it. Everyone – including me – took one bite and said, Wow!

Trickery.

Even Popeye wouldn’t eat it until Bluto beat him to a bloody pulp.

(Personally, I like spinach but then I’m no Popeye.)
