Today’s mentality is that everyone should get a trophy.

You’re better off with the consolation on a game show. You might get some Rice-a-Roni.

Just be Happy Brutus – you finished in second place. Out of two candidates. Un huh.And Berwald took a cut in pay to get that job. Of course he was working 80 hour weeks and now just 50 hours for 30 dollars less per week.

Too bad. He actually would have done a great job. It’s a lesson in life that Brutus been a lifelong student in. Better luck next time my friend…..

It’s a victory, of sorts… ✌️

I once finished 3rd in a Chess Tourney and got my name in the Paper. In actuality, the Tournament had been divided into two “Sections”. It was a City Championship, and an Expert had Registered (Rating 2000 to 2199; 2200 is “Master”). They divided it to give those who didn’t want to play in a Tournament they had no chance of winning, a Section whose winner would not be City Champion. Since there were only 3 entries for the “Championship” Section, I actually finished last… ㋛

Add the ribbon to the coat-of-arms in the Sunday title frame.

Pinning it on will probably draw blood.

So I’m torn in interpreting this as either the Boss truly thinking he’s being magnanimous, or him being sarcastic and making another jibe at Brutus. Leaning heavily toward the latter.
