Red needs 9-10 hours of sleep, Dad.

Nice try, Red. If you slept an extra half hour you and Rover could have a race to the bus stop.

WOW …… The only way I’ve ever got that much sleep …… was when I was under anesthesia ……. ;)

Red, valiant try in theory, but have you considered Rover’s morning needs?

Usually elementary schools start the latest in the morning, so enjoy it while you can, Red.

Well dad, seems like Red IS a rocket scientist, as you didn’t think of that one yourself.

But then you’ll be late for the school bus. Maybe you can have that extra half hour on Friday and Saturday nights.

Anytime I was late for work I’d simply tell them I’ll leave early to make up for it.

Relates to my theory of child development:

The worst thing imaginable for my seven year old nephew is a nap. He would prefer physical torture.

For my teenage students, they long for a nap – assuming they aren’t already asleep.

So when that moment happens when a nap goes from torture to joy; then, my son, you are a man.
