I can’t decide if this reminds me more of the quote from Abhishek Shukla — “Living your life is a task so difficult it has never been attempted before.” or “Rebel Rabbit”, the Bugs Bunny cartoon where he tries to raise the bounty on his head. They’re both so similar. :)
“I don’t know what I’ll be doing in five years, as that technology hasn’t been created yet.” One of my responses to a stupid HR question at a company that disappeared 30 years ago.
My high school gf’s dad wanted me to take mechanical engineering so I could take over his business after I married his daughter. I wanted to take electrical engineering, but last year of high school was frustrating and my bff joined the Air Force and I followed hoping to be a photographer but they steered me into avionics where I excelled and made a good career out of it. Good IQ and analytical skills got me some good niche civilian positions including working with design engineers. making their designs actually work.
Bottom line, high school is a bit early to plan the rest of your life and be prepared for sharp turns. I never met a career councilor who got it right

That is a phrase you’d be wiser to avoid.

Retired! That is the best job of all!
Except there is no Job Description because you don’t have anything to do.
But when you go to bed you are only half done.

OK, a rock star, the likes of which the world has never seen. Does that help?
