Some people don’t pay attention, and then the wrong neurons fire faster.

Rita dumped her problems on Dana one too many times. Fed up, Dana sent Rita that email, just so she could “rescue” her with a hard slap to her face.

My wife and I transferred $300K to our checking account and was on our way to finish purchasing our lake house, when she got a text from “UPS” that they were unable to deliver a package and to have it brought back to the house would cost $25. I asked what she was doing and she said she clicked on the link and was paying $25. I shouted no! Too late! I grabbed my phone and called Chase and stopped any transactions, just in time to stop the $300 from being stolen. Of course, we were expecting a very important delivery, so I don’t blame her for being taken.

I just wish our crooked government would stop being crooked and start arresting criminals and putting them in jail. Of course, to do that, they would need to arrest themselves.

I retired from a Computer Service job, and there were people like that, just couldn’t keep from clicking on anything and everything…

Paid internet traffic would fall to unprofitable levels if the billing accuracy was applied to confirm originations of criminal activity. Back far enough into land-line days, you only had to keep your phone off-hook to allow manual backtracing of a call.

So sad how common that stupid scam has become. I must get 1 or 2 of those a day. Oh and let me give you all fair warning about another scam I was exposed to. First a text comes in asking if I made an unusual purchase on my credit card which is then quickly followed up with a phone call where they spoof the number they’re calling from so it shows up as legit number from your bank. They’re very clever but I realized my bank doesn’t do it like that so I didn’t fall for it. After I disconnected the call I called my bank myself and sure enough it was a scam.

Is this where you give her an Etch A Sketch and tell her it’s the latest computer

Take away her laptop and give her a card punch machine. It should slow her down and let the batch operations screen her input. I do worry that some hidden mainframe has the brains and beating heart of their company and a main lighting circuit got piggybacked onto it’s breaker…
