Hares do go a little crazy in spring (i.e. mating season), hence the term “mad as a March hare”. I once saw evidence of this on a trail ride at a dude ranch in Arizona (in February—spring comes early in the desert). A group of about a dozen jack rabbits (which are hares) were leaping and bouncing all over a hillside mere yards from our horses, which they totally ignored in their frenzy, unlike their usual panicked mad dash away from us.

With humans, things are weird all year round.

Spring time, when a young T. Rex’s thoughts turn to love…

Springtime here seems more to be a battle between winter and summer for dominance, not a time for pleasant days.

‘Knocked down two robin’s nests on my back porch light … next day, the third appeared and momma had laid eggs … too late now to defend my castle.
