I love watching thunderstorms — from far, far away.

When I was in pilot training I was returning from a cross country flight with my instructor. We saw a thunderstorm building in front of us. we decided to go over it rather than around it. We started a climb. We had the aircraft in afterburner and were climbing at 5,000 feet a minute and had to concede. The thunderstorm reached 50,000 feet before we could.

50,000 feet is nearly 10 miles, That’s a BIG cloud.

I think they are here, rain predicted for the next week except Wednesday.
