I said, “Mom, what are you doing, you’re ruining my rep” / She said, “You’re only sixteen, you don’t have a rep yet” / I said, “Mom, let’s put these clothes back, please” / She said “no, you go to school to learn not for a fashion show”

Parents complaining about their kids not being as good as when they were children goes back at least 3,000 years. It is a bit harder to find children, in general, complaining about their parents, although from the 19th century on parents routinely became morons. Prior to that specific kids had specific problems (usually justified) with one or both parents.

It’s about 25% that the adolescent mind can’t be understood. It’s a work in progress until around age 25.

My kids always complained that I understood them only too well!

And so it goes……..

The sky is blue and the grass is green. Yep, it all checks out.

Not for nothing, but I would never ride down a set of steps, nor would I advise others to do so — too much opportunity for an accident to happen. Why court disaster?

(I don’t do “wheelies,” either, like Cruz seems to be doing in the last panel. Same reason.)

I ride a bike either for pleasure, or to get to where I need to go. There’s nothing “fun” about getting injured.

I’ll leave the “daredevil” stuff to professional stunt riders.

And all is right with the world because…?

Each generation of teenagers has said that about their parents.
