Things are winding down for now. I think everybody needs a break from the endless near-misses for a few pages.

The beginning of the end or is it the end of the beginning?

He may not have found HIS brother, but he found A brother.

I cannot wait until all this is in book form so I can reread it and re-experience this story!

Awwww, that is SO sweet! Duffy has come a long way from the insolent, arrogant piece of work he was before he left Endtown.

Dang, I had to go real far back to remember what Duffy and Chic’s relationship was. Turns out I’d forgotten a whole lot of how this arc started- feels like it was a lifetime ago. Almost literally a completely different person now.

Duffy may have lost his original little brother, but he now has a new one in Chic.

It seems to be quiet on the beach … too quiet … way too quiet.

And the phrase that runs thru my head on reading today’s episode is:

“And now for something completely different!”

Thanks to ozed for the link to 25 Sep 2019 – and I don’t think that was the real beginning of this arc, either. radarhead also bemoans how long ago this arc started – “Almost literally a completely different person now,” he says.

As for me, in this period of time, I’ve had a step daughter and a wife succumb to cancer.

I know I’m a different person now than back then.

In my book, Duffy still has a long way to go. He cost Alan his life with his lack of thought. And that was only the most recent of his failures to think. Using Benny and then Chic to probe the beach. Grabbing onto that sad soul near the fountain of souls, trying to kill himself in the cartoon land. He has done good things, of course, But still a ways to go “to be a star”. It would be nice if he changed fast, because Neathery seems to have some serious work ahead for Wally.

Under boydpercy above, bscruffy suggests that the planet is changing its “Apex species to Anthro.”

Not sure how to feel about that. And yet, there was another hint in that direction – the end of the wolf-pig intermission between Wally stories had Walt die and remain an anthro on the “other side of the veil.”

Which begs the question: Is that where Aaron is going with this story?

That all people will become furries – or die?

The Eden arc begins with Marx and Wally in “Candyland” on October 22, 2018. It’s a dream sequence, we are told, but interestingly (now) Wally is converted to an gingerbread man and is sliced up by the knives. Foreshadowing by Neathery?

We see Duffy frowning at either Chic or Irving (and Irving returning a hostile look) on November 26, 2018.

So, yeah, it has been a long and winding road we’ve traveled in this arc. So far …

With all this conversation on the length of this particular story arc, I’ve gotten curious. Does anyone have the date that the whole “Endtown” story began? I’ve been following it from the beginning (and I have all the books; so far), but I never thought to take notice of the actual length of this whole incredible journey. It just seems like a part of my life now.

As a Bear of Very Little Brain, could someone post a link to the Chic/Duffy issue being referenced here? I can’t remember anymore!
