    After 14 straight days of overtime at an out-of-state chemical plant, and more to come, I managed to arrange a date with an old girlfriend. The project manager told me he hoped it wouldn’t affect my ability to work.

    He was 10% joking. I was 90% didn’t care.

    Everyone knows to plan for emergencies. If you do not have an escape plan, you have no one to blame but yourself, and you just might burn down with the house. I always carry a ladder in my back pocket.
