I always thought the sperm whale was the deepest diver, but it’s are only third – at almost 7,400 feet – to the southern elephant seal at more than 7,800 feet.
Humanity spent thousands of years developing standard measurement systems… “How deep can a beaked whale dive?” “more than 30 liberty statues” “How much is that in Big Bens?” “about 29…” :D These are probably those “reputed scientists from renowned universities” who are always publishing new studies about the applications of beet juice in removing blood stains from car trunks ;D
I didn’t know there were 30 Statues of Liberty readily available for whale diving…where do they keep them when the whales are done diving…who moves them to where the whales go diving…seems like a lotta work just to humor whales…

Having never seen the Statue of Liberty I prefer the usual comparison with football fields (nearly 33 of them) or better yet, almost two miles.

The Boeing 727 is possible somewhere at the bottom of the ocean.

I once dove 9,817 feet so I could float on my back and kiss a Curvier Beaked Whale.

9816 feet is 2992 meters. Hmmm…
“How deep did that one go?”
“I dunno, somewhere about 3 kilometers.”
“Better subtract, say, 8 meters, so people don’t think you’re just pulling some number out of your [backside].”

I think it would be easier to relate to 1.86 miles rather than 30 Statues of Liberty.

Hard to believe anybody would steal a Boeing airplane. Too risky.

Like animals who escape from slaughterhouses, I hope the bear was sympathetically awarded its freedom
