Now let me tell you about this great bridge I bought in New York.

Ay, there’s the rub. To all too many, freedom of speech is limited to those who agree with me.

Our founding fathers well knew that freedom of speech will defend good speech and bad. Freedom itself is the right to sort out the truth according to conscience. They also knew that consciences require proper formation. This is why our American form of government is so fragile — and so precious.

This Memorial Day, remember those who died to preserve our true freedoms.
