Replicating AI robots are probably the next evolutional step. The critical term is “replication”. Robots are much more robust than humans. Passing MIL-STD-810 exceeds any human stress levels.
Spring, Summer and Fall my Saturday morning routine consists of sitting at a cafe downtown reading a chapter, drinking my coffee and then watching the lesser of our species on their devices walking into each other, walking into lamp posts, walking into corners of buildings or into doors and sometimes walking into rolling traffic. I would have watched that guy walk in front of a moving car if that little girl hadn’t jerked him back to the curb in time. This is actually pretty entertaining. I mean seriously how often do we get a chance to actually watch Darwin’s theories in process? I do have to wonder though if Elon Musk’s brain chip thingy is going to somehow speed up the process.
It looks like the human got himself uploaded and bopped around in some virtual reality setting for a while, got bored and downloaded into a robot so he could interact with the physical world.

Even robots prefer bipedalism

It does seem to be the way we’re headed.

Perhaps we’ll be remembered in some archive as an early beta version of android.

I like the idea but the steps in between the smart phone and the front of the line don’t work for me.

What is the thingy after the ‘human’?

Should this line have started with the fish … and ended with the robot? Or is Coverly suggesting that we are retreating, not advancing?

That’s not evolution.

All that fuss about climate change was wasted, evolution includes air conditioning in those robots.
