I was hoping for a cartoon commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. After all, Brian Basset did pay tribute on the 75th anniversary of D-Day five years ago. Those strips were reprinted just two years ago when he was recovering from an operation so strips from the summers of 2018 and 2019 were reprinted. As well as the reprints of the D-Day tributes, we also had two Mintz Twins story arcs – one from 2018 and one from 2019.
Don’t worry, everyone. There wasn’t enough room to include the fifth panel. It shows the counter on the other side of the stove, with Rover’s “sauce” (a can of chicken stock). Red’s mom always makes sure Rover gets a little treat, right? ☺️

I have heard that Italian-American families call spaghetti sauce gravy.

Be sure to throw in a couple of meatballs, Mom!

Give Rover a raw egg over his kibble, he’ll like it better.

My girl loves sauce, esp if it’s over a couple of meatballs.

It’s cute that mom doesn’t flinch when Red translates Rover to her! Plus, spaghetti sauce has tomatoes which can be toxic to dogs!

Dogs CAN eat small amounts of tomato based food, but not much. Give Rover a taste ;)

Thanks to those mentioning onions and garlic. Wicked bad for dogs and cats.
