I worked for a major retailer during quarantine, us running out of toilet paper mentality scarred me for months.

The worst part of “Two weeks to flatten the curve” was the first 734 days.

It could be ‘interesting’ at times. I made some serious progress with my Refrigerator pickles. (Asian mustard. Not too much) But then I’m the only one who has to eat them.

Oh, my! What to choose ~ pickled carrots or cake??

I assembled a cigar box guitar kit. It’s fun to play. I use it for a simulated old timey banjo sound with no drone string.

Cakes are a much better choice in my opinion. Pickles are not my favorite. Can’t stand dill pickles. Haven’t really tried many others, including homemeade ones.

Making different flavors of ice cream would be a worthwhile endeavor.

Beets, make it beets.

I saw a Youtube video that inspired me to make bassoon and contrabassoon reeds out of the plastic drink cups found at Starbuck’s, Timmy’s or 7 – 11. Not too shabby. They tend to move out of adjustment, but that is correctable. And they are not as expensive or time consuming to make when using bamboo. And more resilient.

I would recommend Dan try a Spring Cake. As I recall the quarantine began in the spring, and they include some odd fruit things??? Otherwise, anything chocolate would do (for me anyway).

Is pickling a cake an option, Dan?

Try beets — you’ll be pickled tink! Um, tickled pink? Um, something, something… it sounded better in my head.

Dan’s pickles at least released Amanda from the void. Cake is good. Pie is excellent. Both improve with ice cream!
