2011: Justice Thomas didn’t disclose wife’s income due to a “misunderstanding of the filing instructions”

2023: Thomas “inadvertently failed to realize” real estate deal needed to be disclosed.

Today: Thomas “inadvertently omitted” free luxury trips

If you can’t navigate disclosure forms, you shouldn’t be interpreting the constitution.

With a few “acts of contrition”, you have to wonder what they are really hiding and whether their few admissions will quiet things down.

    SCOTUS NEWS

In financial disclosure Thomas adds two “inadvertently omitted” trips from billionaire Crow

SCOTUS NEWSIn financial disclosure Thomas adds two “inadvertently omitted” trips from billionaire CrowBy Amy Howeon Jun 7, 2024 at 4:06 pmFacebookLinkedInTwitterEmailPrintFriendlyShareAll nine justices pose in front of a red curtainEight of the nine justices’ financial disclosure forums were released on Friday. (Fred Schilling, Collection of the Supreme Court of the United States)Justice Clarence Thomas revealed on Friday that conservative billionaire Harlan Crow paid for two trips in 2019, involving a hotel stay in Bali, Indonesia, and at a private club in Sonoma County, Calif. The news came as part of the justices’ annual financial disclosures, which are filed in mid-May and released in early June each year. The forms published online on Friday by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts chronicled the justices’ book royalties – including an advance of nearly $900,000 for the court’s newest justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson – as well as their teaching gigs, gifts, and investments.

The disclosures are relatively opaque and are intended to provide information about potential conflicts of interest and the justices’ compliance with ethical standards rather than snapshots of the justices’ wealth.

Financial disclosures for eight of the nine justices were available on Friday. The forms were due on May 15, but the justices can receive extensions of up to 90 days to submit their forms. Forms for Justice Samuel Alito, who received an extension last year, were not available online.

Thomas disclosed the trips funded by Crow at the end of his 2023 form, explaining that he had “inadvertently omitted” them when he filed his 2019 form. With regard to the second trip, he noted that he had received “food and lodging” at a private club in Monte Rio, Calif. Monte Rio is the home of Bohemian Grove, an exclusive and secretive men’s-only retreat.

Senator launches probe into ‘improper’ interview Alito gave before ethics allegations

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) demanded answers from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito Monday about an “improper” interview he gave to the Wall Street Journal about regulation of the highest court in the land.

‘Gotcha!’ Activist shares how she made bombshell Samuel Alito recording

Progressive activist Lauren Windsor dropped a clip of her secretly-recorded conversations with Supreme Court justice Sam Alito on Monday in which he shared his opinion that he can’t compromise with the political left.

Sam Alito: It’s ‘difficult’ to ‘live together peacefully’ with my political foes

Progressive activist Lauren Windsor posed as a Christian conservative to take an undercover recording of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito at the Supreme Court Historical Society’s annual dinner — and it shows he holds a highly Manichean view of his political opponents.

Too many Catholics on SCOTUS. They support priests that molest children. They try to force THEIR religious views in everyone else, violating the FIRST Amendment. Those Catholic views do NOT support what Jesus preached.

BTW, I was raised Catholic and remember that people PAID “indulgences” and believed that absolved them. Went to Catholic school before Roe v Wade and two of my classmates had older sisters that died from “appendix complications”; even though I was about 10, I heard the whispers about botched abortion.

    Speaking of Catholic indulgences:

My late secretary (and good friend) was a good and decent Catholic lady – who married a Catholic man and bore him two children.

    Livin’ the Catholic Dream!

Later on, her husband had an affair with a nun (I’m NOT making this up!) whom he’d impregnated (very fertile those Catholics!) and subsequently divorced my friend – and married the penguin.

    Oi freaking veh!

Many years later, my friend met a nice man who was Protestant – who’d proposed – but she would not marry him unless . . . Hullo! The Church came to the rescue! For a measly Ten Thousand Dollar “donation” the Church annulled her “first” marriage so she was free – “in God’s Eyes” – to marry – provided the Protestant agreed that any children they might have must be raised in the Catholic Church. So a mom with two kids had her marriage annulled. Doesn’t that make the kids b*stards?

Ten thousand dollars was an awful lot of money for a single mom working two jobs and raising two children – her car cost far less, and her car was as much a POS as her first husband . . .

But it’s good that the Church was there to assist her in her time of need . . . /s

Thomas said that ’’someone’’ told him he didn’t have to report his bribes, oop’s, I mean gifts. Republicans have now made ‘’ignorance of the law is now a valid excuse’’.
