Schoolitis or end-of-summer blues

Well, Val, you have no one to blame but yourself—-you’re the one that taught your kids to ‘revere’ the month of August ! ! ! !

Don’t blame her one bit!

Funny. In my family growing up and then when I had my own kids, going to school was fun. Learning was fun. Now, all the kids want their phones and games, neither of which provides you financial support. Oops, forgot about the liberal parents that let them live at home now all the way up to 40. How disgusting and stupid.

Many schools have started already.

I’m sorry, but that was the dumbest question I’ve ever heard. And I’ve heard it before when I was Alix’s age. Hasn’t gotten any less dumb.

As a child, I found school kept from enjoying my books and the library – and then I discovered how to “daydream” with my eyes open and my head pointed toward what purported to be an instructor – life was a bit easier after that …

I truly enjoyed “school”, however – it provided a climate-controlled area in which to dream, without extraneous people or animals or bugs, other than the occasional wandering human…

Gotta love August.

Our school’s started August 12-15 here in KS. Alix you had a great summer vacation off from school.

I always looked forward to school, it was better than being home all day, even with some of the nasty teachers I had.

She’s destined to be a biologist, she just needs the right teacher/mentor to guide her natural curiosity.

It’s nice to have such a beautiful, natural environment right by the house.
