Resistentalismâ as a philosophy is once again proven valid: âThings are out to get us.â Itâs the modern version of toast with jelly ⊠when dropped, it so often falls jelly-side down. The toast seems to do it on purpose.
Which presents a new opportunity for the old anti-gravity experiment which once consisted of strapping a piece of toast to the back of a cat. It might work better, since a cell phone is closer in size to toast.
Nope. Rule number one is donât sit down with you phone in your back pocket. Or, donât try to sit down you-know-where after having put your phone in your back pocket. The sound of a splash can be deafening.
My prior phones were smaller â starting with a âcandy barâ long ago, followed by a nice small Palm Centro (still have and use as a PDA around the house), followed by a Blackberry around the same size. Then came the Samsung â worked great, bigger than the other ones but still a usable size.
For some odd reason when the 3G phones were discontinued my â then almost brand new) 4G Samsung, which was passably good was also discontinued and had to be replaced.
Husband knows (after all these decades together) that I do NOT take to change easily and I want what I want (though rarely get what I want) so he went out looking for a relatively inexpensive phone that I would not have a fit over and we bought a Motorola. It is huge! If I do not sit it my hand exactly right it falls off the back of my hand. When I âtypeâ on it, it rarely picks up the correct character (problem I never had before on any phone). When I put in the front pocket of my jeans (where I have kept my phones in the past) it is too big to sit comfortably (if put in back pocket it pops out when I sit).
I donât like to carry a purse so I donât unless I have to dress up and canât wear jeans. I keep my phone in my left front pocket with my space pen, tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, and when going out to eat â my pill box. My other front pocket holds my wallet, keys and small spray bottle of alcohol (for using on things I donât want to touch). That leaves my back pockets empty â since Covid the back left pocket carries my mask. (Still carry/wear one sometimes depending on how crowded a place is and how small it is â say a tiny ladies room with a crowd in it.) Other back pocket carries up to 3 of those âtee shirtâ plastic bags as at the same time Covid hit the law against stores handing out same went into affect along with stores either having to collect a fee or being allowed to charge for the paper bags â so I use my decades long collection of saved
paper bags for grocery shopping trips (which have to be carried) and the collected plastic bags for small trips â easier to grab one or more from my back pocket.

Plugger should always buy a bouncy silicone phone case.

Thatâs why they make cell phone protector shells and screen protectors. Have both on my phone and it survived being run over by a vehicle.

Its a well-known corollary to Murphyâs Law known as Buttered Side Down. âAn object will always fall so as to do the most amount of damage,â

Try sitting with it in oneâs front pocket.
