    Funny thing.

    The reason IBM became a big deal is that the government mandated businesses keep accurate payroll records for taxation purposes. Before computers, they were making time clocks…

    My father was in a Merchant Marine convoy to SE Asia in WWII. The ships in front and in back of his were sunk.
