Poor flowers. Never saw the end coming. Wonder if Wallace is going to feel like that in a few weeks…

I feel bad for the kids who have to start school in August and not in September as it used to be.

Heheh. Wallace’s expression in panel 2 is great.

3 months. 3 months off from school. Three months with friends. As kids, messing around with sand piles with army men and building shacks in the woods we called “club houses.” Wandering all over the place and hanging out. As high schoolers, working in the hay fields for money, exploring on our bikes, swimming, building cars, and growing interest in girls. The only thing good about the end of summer recess was the start of football season, and the great adventure that brought. Twas the “good old days” and we knew it not. :)

I heard yesterday that kids in Atlanta go back to school on Aug 1!!

Summer vacay and flapjacks – life is good!

Like a rainy Monday, after retirement, when you realize you don’t have to go to work anymore.

He scared the petals off of the flowers. Wow.

Takes a little time for the ole brain to start working!!!

Not a single lobster on the Hoo. Dad will be sad.

I’m envious, I want a long summer vacation!

Retirement is JUST like this. I still cannot believe I am free. It’s like being thirteen with a bank account, a car and a house where no parents are expected back at any time.

I remember that feeling well even though it was over 60 years ago

And now you have syrup in your hair, Wallace…that will give you something to work on this morning…
