And all of you tried to mooch off one another! Surprising that all three aren’t either in the canal or in the cells for brawling;

And that’s why he can’t hang with people exactly like him, besides they are competition for cadged drinks.

I could see that coming.

They’re exactly like him, but they don’t exactly like him!

The other two are breaking the fourth wall while talking to THEIR wives…..

This implies he heads out to the bar with no money at all and expects people to buy him drinks. You’d think by now he would have used up all his good will.

Is the correct word – would or COULD?

If they’re exactly like Andy, they probably didn’t have any money and they couldn’t cadge drinks off other bar patrons (who probably headed out the door the minute Andy and his pals walked in)

Ginger’s exactly like Andy? Yet another reason to prefer Mary Ann.
