In 2024 a copy of “Action Comics” No. 1 was auctioned for a record breaking $6 millon. And an issue of Superman No. 1 sold for $5.3 million in 2022. Spidey did not steal a thing.

Yes, I was 18 when that Spider-Man comic came out. Of course I bought it, but as a teen I lived “in the moment,” and most likely traded it for a Blackhawk comic … which was then traded for an Uncle Scrooge. On the other hand, it might be still up in the attic in our old home, safely stored in plastic away from my older brother. Sadly, the house sold years and years ago.

In the mid 80’s I had a complete run of Amazing Spiderman, #1 thru #300, I sold the collection at a Comic-con and brought a 486 computer with a 15" monitor a 40 meg harddrive and 2 megs of ram-after a few years it was about worthless but if I had kept the comics they would have about doubled at that time and about ten times by now!

I wonder how much X-Men # 1 is worth? I remember that I had that one.

How can anyone walk, or drive (or being driven by) homeless poor on the streets after spending that obscene amount of money on a comic book?

I had Issues #1 and #2 of the Fantastic Four. Don’t tell me what they might be worth today. It wouldn’t be good for my mental health.
